What is PP foam tape


PP foam tape is a special tape with the function of isolating power and preventing leakage. This tape is generally composed of two parts: base tape and adhesive layer. Among them, the base tape part is generally made of cotton cloth, synthetic fiber fabric, plastic film and other materials, these materials are insulating and not conductive; and the adhesive layer part of PP foam tape is generally made of rubber and tackifying resin. Yes, some compounding agents will be added to improve the adhesion of the adhesive layer. The color of PP foam tape is usually black and red, and the color change is much less than other tape products.

Precautions for the use of PP foam tape
What should people pay attention to when using PP foam tape? These points should be paid attention to:

(1) When using insulating tape on the power cord connector, use the correct connection method. Common insulating tape joint winding methods include cross connection, inline connection, T-connection, etc. The insulating tape at the joint should be wrapped firmly without burrs.

(2) In order to prolong the service life of insulation replacement and slow down the damage speed of the tape, people wrap two layers of plastic tape on it after winding the insulating tape. In this way, the possibility of external damage to the insulating tape will be reduced, and the service life will be longer.

(3) PP foam tape is thicker than ordinary tape, and it is not so convenient to operate. In order to wrap the wire well, when people wrap the insulating tape, the action should be slow, and the wrapping amplitude should be controlled well, and it should not be too dense, otherwise it will not be wrapped well.
