Al-PET is a widly used insulation and shielding material in cable and wires. The film provides insulation and electromagnetic shielding. There is also 3 layer Al-PET-Al film, that could provide a electrical conducting surface on the film.

We are manufacturer of it and can laminate the foil film as per your requirements. The thickness of aluminum layer, PET layer and color of it are all can be customized, the width, length or outer diameter can be customized too.

The Al-PET can be choose to packed in pad form, or reeled on to plastic spool, wooden spool, or a cardboard center.

Besides PET film, we can also laminate PP, LEPE, PI, PVC and other polymer films with metal foils like copper foil, aluminum foil. and they have different uses, for example, the Al-PI has a good performance in fire retardant and can be used as fire retardant shielding film.

Cable shielding materials :In the modern world of electronics and telecommunications, cable shielding materials play a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning and integrity of electrical systems.

Cable shielding is primarily designed to protect the signals carried within the cable from external interference. This interference can come in various forms, such as electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio - frequency interference (RFI). EMI can be generated by a wide range of sources, including power lines, motors, and other electrical devices. RFI, on the other hand, is often associated with radio transmitters and wireless communication devices. Without proper shielding, these interferences can corrupt the signals in the cable, leading to data loss, reduced performance, and in some cases, complete system failure.

One of the most commonly used cable shielding materials is copper. Copper is an excellent conductor of electricity, which makes it very effective in diverting external electromagnetic fields away from the cable core. Copper shielding can be applied in different forms. For example, a copper braid is often used. The braided copper shield provides a continuous and flexible covering around the cable. It has a high conductivity and can cover a large surface area, which helps in better interference protection. Another form of copper shielding is copper foil. Copper foil shields are thinner and can be wrapped tightly around the cable, providing a more compact shielding solution. However, copper foil may not be as durable as the braided copper shield in some applications.

Aluminum is also a popular choice for cable shielding. It is lighter than copper, which can be an advantage in applications where weight is a concern, such as in aerospace or some portable electronic devices. Although aluminum has a lower conductivity compared to copper, it still offers a significant level of shielding against EMI and RFI. Aluminum shielding is often used in combination with other materials to enhance its performance. For example, an aluminum - polyester laminate can be used. The polyester layer provides additional mechanical strength and protection, while the aluminum layer offers the shielding function.

Another important type of cable shielding material is steel. Steel is known for its high mechanical strength. In some applications where the cable may be exposed to physical stress or abrasion, a steel - based shielding can be very useful. Steel shields are often used in industrial settings where cables are required to withstand harsh environments. However, steel is not as good a conductor as copper or aluminum, so it may need to be combined with other conductive materials to achieve effective EMI and RFI shielding.

In addition to these metallic shielding materials, there are also non - metallic materials used for cable shielding. One such material is conductive polymers. Conductive polymers can be engineered to have certain electrical properties similar to metals while also offering advantages such as flexibility, lightweight, and ease of processing. They can be used in applications where traditional metal shielding may not be suitable, such as in some flexible electronic devices or in situations where corrosion resistance is required.

In conclusion, cable shielding materials are essential components in modern electrical and communication systems. The choice of shielding material depends on various factors, including the level of interference protection required, the physical environment in which the cable will be used, and the cost - effectiveness of the solution. Whether it is copper, aluminum, steel, or non - metallic materials like conductive polymers, each has its own unique properties and applications in ensuring the reliable transmission of signals within cables.
