Product Description
Mica tape combines a mica-paper insulation layer with fiberglass and, for selected three-in-one constructions, a polymer film. The layers are bonded with a refractory adhesive to provide a flexible insulation material for fire-resistant wire and cable systems. The supplied TDS presents single-sided, double-sided and three-in-one structures using phlogopite or fluorophlogopite mica, plus a calcined-mica option.
Each construction has a different reinforcement arrangement, mica content, tensile value and breakdown-strength requirement. Buyers should select the product by complete structure and verified test requirement rather than by thickness alone.

Temperature-Resistance Grades
Mica Construction | TDS Temperature-Resistance Grade | TDS Descriptive Voltage Condition |
Phlogopite mica tape | 750–850°C | 600–4000 V for 90 minutes without breakdown |
Fluorophlogopite mica tape | 950–1100°C | 600–4000 V for 90 minutes without breakdown |
Calcined mica tape | 750–900°C | 600–4000 V for 90 minutes without breakdown |
How the Structures Differ
- Single-sided mica tape uses fiberglass reinforcement on one side for a flexible, lower-profile construction.
- Three-in-one mica tape combines polymer film, mica and fiberglass for reinforced multilayer insulation.
- Double-sided mica tape places fiberglass reinforcement on both sides of the mica layer.
- Fluorophlogopite grades carry the highest temperature-resistance range listed in the supplied TDS.
- Calcined mica uses heat-treated natural mica with fiberglass reinforcement and refractory adhesive.
Typical Applications
- Fire-resistant power, control, data and communication cables.
- Electromagnetic wire and other electrical winding insulation.
- Fire-resistant insulation components for new-energy vehicles.
- Energy-storage battery and electrical-system insulation.
- Precision-cut mica insulation components and full-roll converting.
Packaging
Mica tapes are packaged in moisture-proof film bags, packed in cartons, and then palletized.

Storage
1. The product should be stored in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated warehouse.
2. The product should not be stored with flammable materials or near sources of ignition.
3. The product should be protected from direct sunlight and rain.
4. The product should be packaged intact to prevent moisture and contamination.
5.The product should be protected from heavy pressure and other mechanical damage during storage.
6.The product has a shelf life of six months at room temperature from the date of production.

Selection Checklist
- Choose the mica type: phlogopite, fluorophlogopite or calcined mica.
- Confirm single-sided, double-sided or three-in-one reinforcement.
- Specify the approved thickness and allowable tolerance.
- Provide the required breakdown voltage or cable fire-test target.
- State tape width, roll length, core requirement and quantity.
- Provide wrapping overlap, number of layers and line speed.
- Validate the tape in the complete cable or insulation system before mass production.
